About Looma
Looma is your on‑device data vault and privacy shield. We help you see what apps collect, block hidden trackers, and ensure data is only shared when you choose to share your anonymised insights, so you benefit.
Our mission
To flip the data economy so people are in control and can see what is really happening to their data. Looma is private by default, transparent by design, and rewarding when you choose to share your data on your terms.
What is Looma?
Looma is an app and website based personal data solution (and soon, a marketplace) that gives you clarity and control over your digital life. Your data stays on your device by default. When you choose to share anonymised insights, you see exactly what is shared, with whom, and you get paid.
How Looma works
- Vault - Your data, on your device. A clear view of what is collected, where it lives, and your options.
- Shield - On‑device privacy tools: tracker blocking, metadata cleanup (for example, remove location from photos before sharing) and app hygiene reminders.
- Marketplace - Opt‑in campaigns where anonymised insights are purchased by vetted organisations (researchers, NGOs, insurers, brands). You approve each campaign. No tokens, no points, and a cash first payout marketplace.
Why now?
Big Tech makes billions from personal data while most people earn nothing from theirs and get little transparency. Regulations are catching up, on‑device AI is ready, and consumers want control. Looma brings these threads together: edge AI + consent + fair value.
What we believe
- Private by default - No cloud servers; nothing leaves your device without consent.
- Consent that is clear - Plain language, one‑tap decisions, full visibility.
- Cash over points - Real value for real insights.
- Finite lifecycles - No data forever. See the Data Packet Expiry Policy.
- Open, not extractive - Built to work with others, never to trap you. Looma values user choice and honest design over manipulative dark patterns.
Privacy by design
- On‑device AI for analysis; no raw uploads by default.
- Granular consent per category or campaign.
- Anonymisation and k‑anonymity for all outbound summaries.
- Data Packet Expiry Policy - Encryption keys auto‑expire (typically five years); after expiry, packets are unreadable.
- Provenance (roadmap) - A Data Journey ledger showing where anonymised packets go within the marketplace.
Roadmap
- Phase 1: Vault and Shield. Android MVP with full local tracking visibility. iOS version includes Vault data (Health and device analytics) plus tracker detection and educational features while awaiting full integration approval.
- Phase 2: Marketplace launch (campaigns and subscriptions), buyer dashboard, and pre‑packaged reports.
- Phase 3: APIs for verified buyers, provenance registry, and secure enclave processing tier.
